I remember the time
That I went to symphony
And I saw a man with his eyes closed
I scoffed ot my parents:
“He’s sleeping!”
Years later
I was in the same hall
And I closed my eyes
And suddenly
The music did not come
To me from the stage
But from stages
It gripped me in my chest
Which swelled up and down
The emotion of every note
Pierced my amygdala
It is that way with many things
Because the eyes lie
One must close them
To feel something
Whether it is wrestling an opponent
Or feeling a poem
There are things in life
Which you must watch for a long time
To understand
And at that point
You must close the eyes
Because the time to look is over
It is time to feel.
